Meet Jerry,

The Author

WRITER:

Jerry started writing at a young age in middle school. He ventured out with his poetry talents, unveiling his first praised poem title “That’s Life” which impressed teachers and also his peers. This boost of confidence motivated Jay to keep on and explore further into the writing field. He kept building his portfolio, writing poems, and even writing songs in his high school years. He went on to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and Majored in English and also majored in Creative Writing as well. Through rigorous writing classes, peer reviews, and presentations, Jay kept on advancing in his craft. He graduated with his degrees and has a very nice portfolio with a plethora of short stories, songs, and poetry to one day share with the world. Jerry has always been a very positive individual who is always cheerful and defined by his unique style and smile. He wants all to hear his opinion, his voice, he admires his pen, for it is his avenue of expression. May the world be blessed by his words.

But if I could mirror anyone, it would be my favorite writers of all time, Ms. Maya Angelou, Mr. James Arthur Baldwin, and Mr. Richard Nathaniel. Influences Jerry McRae (himself) (alive and well), Maya Angelou (1928 - present), Arna Bontemps (1902 - 1973), Gwendolyn Brooks (1917 - 2000), Charlotte Bronte (1816 - 1855), T. S. Eliot (1888 - 1965), Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882),  Langston Hughes (1902 - 1967), James Arthur Baldwin (August 2, 1924 – December 1, 1987) and a host of others.
